See the Difference
Same question. One asks AI to search first.
As of my last update, 30-year fixed mortgage rates were around 6.5-7%. However, rates change frequently, so I recommend checking with lenders or financial websites for the most current information.
Outdated. AI is working from old training data and knows it.
According to Bankrate as of today, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is 6.89%, while 15-year fixed rates are at 6.12%. Rates have risen slightly this week due to Fed policy signals. [Sources cited]
Current, specific, with sources you can verify.
Why This Works
AI learns from data with a cutoff date. It doesn't automatically know about recent events, current prices, or the latest news. When you ask about something that's changed, AI either admits it doesn't know — or gives you outdated information.
Most AI tools can now search the internet, but they don't always do it automatically. When you tell AI to search, it fetches current information and gives you sources you can check.
Ways to Use This
- "Search the web for this."
- "Look this up online and tell me what you find."
- "Find the current [price/news/information] about..."
- "Search for recent articles about..."
The Technique
When you need current information — prices, news, recent events — tell AI to search the web. It will fetch fresh data and cite its sources.

- • Stock prices, exchange rates, market data
- • Product prices and availability
- • Recent changes to laws, policies, or regulations
